San Fernando Valley Council of Governments Request for Proposals for Executive Director Services

 

The City of Los Angeles, Office of the City Administrative Officer, is issuing this RFP for an Executive Director of the SFVCOG on behalf of the SFVCOG to solicit proposals from qualifying individuals or entities (“Proposers”) that are willing to provide the services detailed herein commencing no later than January 1, 2026.

The Executive Director serves as a key staff member to the Board of Directors, responsible for preparing for SFVCOG meetings by coordinating with support staff to draft reports and agendas three weeks before meetings, including a minimum of four annual meetings and various committee discussions. Additionally, the Executive Director facilitates the annual Valley Mobility Summit, managing all logistical details. Monthly duties encompass collaborating with city officials to develop approved programs, leading implementation efforts, creating the Annual Work Program, and devising a legislative advocacy agenda. The Executive Director also works to secure grants, serves as the primary liaison to regional and government agencies, assists board committee leaders, oversees SFVCOG communications, attends relevant state meetings, manages compliance with conflict of interest regulations, and travels within California to advocate for SFVCOG priorities as directed by the Board.
